Glycerol better known as Glycerine is a liquid with a high viscosity (viscousness). Glycerin is used in the food industry as a solvent or sweetener, for example in sweets, pastries and butter. It is a permitted substance with the E number 422.
Glycerine is derived from natural fats and oils and is obtained in a synthetic way. It can be used as a preservative and / or flavor enhancer.
